Yes, it has been 6 years since we last posted. Why the wait, you ask? We lost the dang password and the email account. Yes. Laugh all you want. We excel at ARTING not COMPUTING. So keep that in mind as we reboot. And thank you Cheryl who answered my call and puts up with my giddiness when I figure things out. Bless her.
OK on with the show. And by show I mean the festival. Did anyone get good pics from the Southwest Quilt and Fiber Festival? I took some and blogged about it on my personal blog The Creatives of Southern Utah. I would encourage you go take a peek at it because I posted pics of a few of our members won ribbons for their work that they entered on the quilt side of the festival. Here are a few pics I took of our booths. I did no closeups because I was just capturing the general look for the next festival workers to reference. I didn't think I would restart this blog! If you have good pictures I will post them onto this blog - especially if you have closeups of your pieces. Send them to southernutahfiberartist@gmail.com or to my personal email if you have it.
If you are reading this and are not a member of Southern Utah Fiber Artists (SUFA) who hosted this booth, consider joining us! We meet at 10am the first Tuesday of every month at YLI Threads (87 E 2580 S St. George, UT) at the upper part of the building to the right side where the workrooms are. We'd love to have you. Consider bringing a sample or two of what you like to make so we can get to know you better.
If you entered a piece into the fiber side of the festival, thank you very much! We ladies who set everything up and probably talked to you before the festival enjoyed seeing your work and look forward to your entering pieces in next years festival (Nov 2027). Finally, to all the SUFA members who worked so hard to make our fiber booth happen, thank you. Special thanks to Sue Gilgen. If she didn't talk to Bob about including us, it would not have happened!
